Riverina law firm commits to Griffith community with new office set to open
Three Riverina-based lawyers will head up the new Griffith office of leading regional law firm, Commins Hendriks Solicitors.
Commins Hendriks chief executive officer Stacy Moses said the business is set to expand to seven local offices across the Riverina, plus one in the ACT, confirming its place as the largest law firm in the region.
Ms Moses said Commins Hendriks’ Griffith-based Senior Associate Anthony Morton has started work while the new office located in Ulong Street, Griffith, is being refurbished.
“We are excited to offer the community another option when considering their access to local legal services,” Ms Moses said.
“We have seen an increase in the number of people from the Griffith area seeking our services and we believe now is the right time to commit to this vibrant community and open a fulltime office.
“Our staff will be able to meet clients face-to-face in their own city which is often a better option than travelling or meeting via Teams or Zoom.
“Having that personal connection to our clients is important to us, and we’re taking this step with a full commitment to offer ethical and professional legal advice and representation to the Griffith community.”
Commins Hendriks Solicitor Director Tara Freeburn will take a senior role with the Griffith team which includes Senior Associates Anthony Morton and Carla Gash; who will be working across Griffith and Coolamon. Anthony is a highly experienced and well-respected practitioner and looks forward to continuing to provide legal services to the Griffith community.
Ms Freeburn said the Griffith team has more than 60 years of combined experience in various fields and has plenty to offer the Griffith community.
“Griffith is an expanding city at the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and we have had many long relationships with families in the area,” Ms Freeburn said.
“Opening an office in Griffith gives us greater access to the community and builds on that trust as we are local, we are here to help and we provide an extensive range of legal advice and services.”
Ms Moses said Commins Hendriks had a long history going back more than 100 years and developed many strong relationships within the rural and agricultural sectors.
“Our firm has strong links to the region and people know who we are … they know we have a strong history, and when we commit to a community, we are there for the long haul,” Ms Moses said.
“Our office can be reached on 0269 336900 and we look forward to working closely with the Griffith community.”
Mr Morton completed his Bachelor of Laws with honours at Monash University before being admitted in 2001.
He lives in Griffith and has been assisting clients in the Griffith, Leeton and surrounding communities for more than 20 years. He has assisted clients living in rural areas with a range of legal issues.
Mr Morton said he prides himself on being approachable and empathetic and providing straight forward, practical and understandable legal advice.
“I look forward to continuing to provide high quality legal services to our Riverina MIA community with the support of the Commins Hendriks team,” he said.
