Kristan Somerville (nee Harmer) commenced full-time work with Commins Hendriks in 2002 as part of the Law Clerk program which offers the opportunity to work with Commins Hendriks whilst studying law by distance through The University of Sydney, Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB). She graduated and was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in NSW in 2006 and has been practising for more than 13 years.
Over the years Kristan worked extensively with Mr Bill Thompson, Solicitor Director, in the areas of rural issues advice, intergenerational advice and succession planning, before moving to Sydney for three years where she worked as an Associate Solicitor in a well-known litigation firm.
Kristan returned to Commins Hendriks in 2013 and as one of our Senior Associates now leads one of the Firm’s property and commercial practice groups. She provides prompt and practical advice across a wide range of property and commercial matters for individuals, private companies and Local Government organisations.
Kristan specialises in rural and commercial transactions, business transactions and advice, rural issues advice, intergenerational advice and succession planning, and sales and purchases for business, and property both rural and residential.
Kristan prides herself on the high level of service provided to her clients, she is efficient and practical, taking a plain English approach to each matter.
Her workgroup are friendly and assessible. Their aim is to produce an effective and practical outcome for their clients and ensure stream-lined service when transacting all matters.
Kristan is a dedicated, empathetic and passionate lawyer who grew up in Wagga Wagga and enjoys being part of the local community. She is a member and Secretary of The South West Slopes Law Society and member of the Wagga Wagga Women in Business. She holds a Diploma in Law and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
